Hello all, I'm currently living in my sister's house and have been repairing existing issues in the house one by one...thankfully with the help of my sister. The last major project is the kitchen ceiling. I think you're trying too hard. You're adding in too many poetic adjectives, making the wording sound too impressive (no offense, but you can't really pull it off-- neither can I) and while I realize you're trying to put an exact picture in the reader's mind, it just looks sort of....... blah. (I used to have this problem, and I still have this problem half of the time. ;)) Also, the excessive descriptions aren't creating a specific picture, rather a swirl and jumble of a mess. It makes it harder to understand. My advise would be just to write-- don't think too hard about it, don't try too hard. Then, see where you are. :)

I washed out plastic milk gallon jugs starting about 2 years ago. Boiled Water, poured the water in the milk gallons. Put a piece of clear plastic between over the top, then screwed the top on. How can I avoid gaining weight in Thailand?

Every time I have moved overseas for work in the past I have gained heaps of weight. Once I gained 30kg in 4 months, once 20kg in 5 months and so on. I finally lost all my travel weight and now weigh 62kg for 166cm height (I'm female). I'm moving to Thailand for six months and I am petrified that I will gain weight again, because I won't be able to eat salads etc. What do I dooooo????

How can I save my cactus?

I have had this cactus for almost a year now and water it on a weekly basis. I have 3 cactuses and the other two are fine and I do the exact same with them. Your service engine light should be coming on...if so you might have a sensor going bad...some only malfunction when they become warm which would explain why it acts up less when not driven. If the light is not coming on it sounds like an alternator, battery problem...but that does not explain the rpm surge. I'm guessing a TPS ot ignition sensor. A big box auto parts store will give you a free scan if the light is on...but the information they give is often sketchy.

Fake Oxycontin 80's? OC on one side, Nothing on the Other!?

My house is the "older teen/young adult" hang out spot because of my roommates 19 year old twin boys. My roommate is prescribed Oxycontin 80mg... and because of all the traffic, he counts his pills regularly... a known fact in our household. After taking his nightly dose my roommate told me it wasn't working, which promted us to check his bottle... the count came out right but I noticed that some of the pills looked different... they had the OC on one side, were the same size, but DID NOT have 80 on the other side. A fingerprint has been found on one of the pills and an investigation started. Does anyone know what is being used as a fake Oxycontin 80s? And has this become common practice? We have also been told that we were not "duped" that someone must have wanted "Brand-Name" Oxycontin and replaced them with Generic ones.... I have researched the drug and have found no similiar generic (same size, same color, just no 80)... My main question is... "Is there such a Generic" and if not, what do you think was ingested? Sanding an End Grain Cutting board/butcher block.?

I am attempting to sand down an end grain cutting board/butcher block counter top. I need to take it down about 1/8 of an inch to level it and take out all of the imperfections. I have tried a palm sander, hand planner, and a large porter cable random orbit sander with as low as 60 grit sand paper. None of these have made the slightest dent in the hard maple end grain. Any suggestions?

Some how my ferret got outside and my neighbors found her in their yard and so they decided to keep her, they didn't even try looking for the owners, and they probably saw the missing ferret posters I put up but they still didn't call. I didn't find out they had her until just recently, but I lost Amber about 4 months ago. The reason I think it's her is because it looks EXACTLY like her with the same markings and everything (my friend saw her.) Plus Amber is kinda rare color (dark silver with blaze and creamy undercoat with a brown spot above her left leg.) And they told me when they found her, and it was on the same exact day I lost her. I understand why they would wanna keep her because she's the best ferret in the world and she's so sweet and smart and loving, but I've had her for two years before them and spent thousands of dollars on her, and they practically abuse her and know absolutely nothing about ferrets.They keep her in a rabbit hutch outside, and it's completely inappropriate because I live in texas where it gets really hot during the summer and ferrets will get heat stroke in temperatures above 85 degrees farenheit, but they're too stupid to know that. They didn't even take her to the vet and I'm sure she has fleas by now! I went to their house and told them I lost my ferret and asked if I could see theirs because it might be mine, but they made up a stupid excuse and the mom lied and said they actually got her at petsmart when before she said they found her. Right now you need to do some self searching. Try new things. See what you want to do in life. Just because your going to school to do International Economics/business doesn't mean your stuck in that job for the rest of your life. These people will give you the drive to get what you want done. Also look into something that brings you joy. You don't have to follow your parent's decisions on your life. It is your life. Basically, I am at 20 year old college student. I have 3 brothers, one ped two years ago. My mom also ped 8 years ago! It has just been me and my 2 brothers living with my dad for the past year or so. He has had a girlfriend 2years after my mom ped. We all seemed to get along with the girlfriend UNTIL they got married. My dad built a nice humongus house for all of us to live in including my 11 year old; now stepsister! Well things started to change REAL quick. At my old house (keep in mind im a college student 20yrs old) we never had any rules really... just had a curfew and had to pick up cell phone when my dad calls. And every now andthen pick up our mess around the house. Well now in the new house (that my stepmom makes ALL the rules)... CAnt stay out past 12, if u stay out past 12 doors are shut on you and you have to find somewhere else to stay... if u dont take ur shoes off at the door there will be consequences, or if bed is not made right after u get up etc... i think it is a little unfair im basically alreadyraised (me and my 18 yr old brother) i feel like i dont need consequences! lol.. just tell me if i forget and i;ll do it...i hate being treated like a child. Also, since im in college she told me i have to have an appointment to come home!! and also told me my boyfriend of 2yrs was not allowed to stay more than 2days in front of his face (he use to stay at least a week because he is out of town 2hrs away!) And Well then my 18yr old brother failed a marijuana drug test she also found a bottle of crown royal in his room...so what does she do...? she goes to the courthouse and tries to get him kicked out of the house completely. This really upset alot of my family members (aunt,grandma, cousins) she has been trying to control everyone. she even told my AUNT who raised us after my mom died, that she could not talk to my dad anymore without her being present...because she doesnt want her to start gossping! i think this woman is unreal. My theory all along (even when they were dating) since my dad is fairly wealthy and all beig a noted optomitrist in our town with his own business... Id say she is after the money. She is 16 years younger than he is...my dad is in his mid 50's. She is trying to kick all of us out of the house is my theory and make us NOT want to live there. I dont even go home anymore or talk to my dad because I refuse to have a conversation with her. My dad is completely on her side of course. She told my brother she thinks i have the devil inside of me, and im not allowed in her house till i apologize to her and be nice to her... But honestly everytime we talk we exchange hurtful things, i get mad and upset and cry and scream and have serious panic attacks i get so stressed out evertime i talk to her because she is so hateful to me. Hi 2 all out there, I know I will be judged but who cares, I have 2 let it out…..4give the number/words… About 2 wks ago I made a horrible decision. I was intimate with my mate’s friend and I hate myself and my conscience is burning me alive. I had taken a tail of meds and alcohol, my mate had just emotionally abused me for the 100th time so I fled and somehow ran into his friend. I’ve called him before for comfort and he has a very calming way about him and is charming, fun, adventurous but also an incurable flirt. He told me many things one of which was that the night we all met, the only reason he told my mate to go get my number was because if he didn’t, this person would. He told me he’s always wanted me and thinks I’m awesome and I get treated horribly. I honestly don’t recall much of it—it’s a blur and then I remember standing in the store about to break down because the thought of being unfaithful is enough to send me to an asylum. I told this person about my feelings and he took it personal as if I were saying he wasn’t all that when in fact I was expressing my guilt for possibly crossing a line I would never cross in my RIGHT MIND. So I go home and do all the housework—hubby’s in same spot watching ESPN and smoking pot, asking where his red vines are,etc. I went to therapy and realized that was a wake-up call and I did it because all my emotional needs are unmet by an addict. The other person flaked on me (probably judged me) said I was “too intense” and didn’t know how to deal with me and can’t see me like that even though he fawned over me for months and told me how great I am. Now he’s back to his life, married to a 220 pound slovenly, ghetto, uncouth drug addict that he works 12 hr shifts to help support. He will not respond to any of my texes and I feel REJECTION and it hurts. I feel screwed because I put my future in jeopardy for someone who would blow me off like that. There are scores of men who adore me and I’m very refined in taste, manners, and appearance. Now I have trouble thinking men can be trusted. How do I forget this incident and move on? By the way, I found a huge stash of very hard core in my mates closet with a receipt for over 50.00. I felt a fool—I remember that day—being concerned about groceries, paying rent, and all for him to blow his money on that? For supposedly being gifted, I’m and idiot when it comes to love. Since then I’ve had a breakdown, had to be seen intensely by my MD and been severly depressed, unable to open my Bible sure of my destruction. What kind of woman does that kind of thing, esp. with her mate’s friend? I feel so stupid!! And if my mate ever finds out, I’ll be in a ditch somewhere—he’s volatile and immature. Ice buildup in freezer?

The other night, I accidentally left my freezer open a little bit, and everything thawed out. I closed it as soon as I realized it, and a few hours later, I noticed that there's a thick layer of ice built up on the top of the inside of the freezer. I'm getting an MRI on my brain next Wednesday, because I have headaches all the frickin' time and I guess we're just making sure that I'm not a mutant and I don't have brain cancer or anything. I've never been in for an MRI or known anyone who has--what's it like? Is it that thing where they slide you into that capsule looking thing? Dreamweaver causing issues withTortuious SVN (Mercurio)?

I am using Dreamweaver CS3...basically when I change a file it ends up and save it everything is fine. But something about Dreamweave makes the file mess up when doing a Diff in SVN. For example if you do a Diff of an older version of that file + the newer version I just changed it ends up showing the ENTIRE page as changed.making it hard to pinpoint exactly what has been changed. Is there way to fix this at all?

Cloudy eyes in an older dog are probably due to cataracts. A veterinary opthalmologist may be able to remove them but I would get a second opinion. Many older dogs learn to cope well with blindness. Just limit her exposure to bright sunlight, and encourage her when she feels her way. If you treat her as if everything is ok she will probably learn to adjust.

Which iPod should I get?

If you want to justify your claim as to how the Ravens have worth this is who they need to beat. At least one of these teams. Tennessee, Dallas, or the Giants. With Tennessee's defense playing like they are, it would be a huge accomplishment. Dallas is just a threat all around, if they're offense doesn't show up, their defense can handle the load, and vice versa, and the Giants are playing well plus are the defending super bowl champs. Don't worry its just the Tannins from the tea. Without the development of the tannins, the tea would lack colour and its characteristic flavour. They build up over time and make the surface of the pot go black. It will also do the same thing to the inside of cups. Tannins are also used as a type of natural dye. Fabric can be soaked in cold tea to give it a light brown colour. To remove the dark tannin stain from your pot just fill it with boiling water from your kettle and pour some white vinegar in it, then leave it sit for a while. It will make it disappear. You may have to do it twice depending on how much build up is on the pot. I wouldn't use bleach or anything like that as bleach is chemical based and will alter the taste of your tea. Dont worry vinegar will do the trick and its safe and cheap :)

My Horses is 17 , she is completely sound, ( More so then my coach's 9 year old , who is Lame Often) My Horse still competes , Jumps 3'3ft and Wins often. I'm obsessed i may miscarry,what can i do?

Is modern Christianity against in vitro fertilisation (IVF)? If so, why?

I've had some people tell me that their religion is against IVF as this is artificial life and therefore against God's will. But isn't it a wonderful scientific breakthrough for infertile couples? I know some LOVELY people who would make excellent parents, but have had trouble conceiving. Why would God in his infinite wisdom and benevolence make a couple infertile AND THEN forbid them from using IVF when the opportunity came along? Doesn't seem so fair to me.

Like for example any type of soup that has some type of broth in it. Chicken broth, beef broth, veal broth, veggie broth, etc. And I don't mean like right right after a surgery but a while after the surgery when the doctors say you don't need to starve yourself anymore.

Can someone help me with my landlord? She is a nightmare!?

My ex landlord is refusing to give me back my deposit. When I moved into the house I offered her to come and mark down any damages she saw before i moved in. she said that wasn't necessary. I did this because I redid the hardwood floors. I also did all the cleaning and painting before moving in. Was freezing cold outside but she wouldn't allow me to turn heat on because heat was still in her name. I could smell musty moldy in the basement. when I was in the basement cleaning it felt like something was growing in my throat. the landlord said that is because the house had been empty for a while. every time it rained basement flooded BAD. she didn't fix that. Window in basement had NO window in it. In winter my house was 60 degrees when heat was set at 72. (in the one room directly above the window with no window). I said something to her on Mothers Day when she showed up at the house, about the window and she said it would be fixed but not for me. The next renters would have all the things that I was asking fixed fixed for them. I taped this conversation only because my husband thought I was making up on how she treated me and I was appalled that she said that to me. During winter when humidifier needed to be ran, walls would have brown stuff running from the ceiling. She said that wasn't her fault. Mold is growing on brand new windows she just put in last fall and is also growing on the ceiling in the corner of my sons bedroom and in my other sons bedroom is growing on the crease of the ceiling and wall, the last straw was the water heater. It was wet on the floor by the water heater and she knew about it for 2 months before I moved out, and she never did anything about it. She denied knowing about it, but on Mothers day I told her again, I moved out May 31st, and the water heater was still not working right. My husband spoke with her last night and asked her what was going on with our deposit and she said with all the damage that we did, she didn't think there would be a deposit. She was never in the house to see if there was any damage done before we moved in. Her daughter was the one that lived there before us. She is blaming her daughters accidents on us. I offered her to come to see the house and she said no. There was a fridge that is probably 25 years old and she is saying that we will be paying for that to because it is not working. After living there for 8 months, at her and her daughters request, she asked my husband and his company to redo the driveway because it was asphalt and they wanted cement, him being a machine operator for a large excavating company they wanted to get a good deal. She did alright. Not a dime was taken off our rent. We supplied the helpers, food, of course the beers for the guys who had to work on a Saturday for free, and not until this past year did we find out that we were charged for the re-bar and gravel for the driveway. Can someone tell me what I can do about this woman? DO I have a good case here? I should also tell you that I have video tape from when I moved and also took more video when I moved out along with pictures.. I know and learned for this that I will never live somewhere without having a lease. She said that was not necessary because me and her daughter were friends. I should have you know that I am a very clean neat orderly person. Me and my husband are what you could call the dream tenants.THe landlord said the only thing she is responsible for was the property taxes and that was it. Oh and the weekend of Mothers Day, the city sewer backed up in the basement, and she wanted us to pay for the bill to call the plumber in only to find out that it was a city problem. Then when we made a claim with our insurance for the things that we lost, she wanted to add that bill to our claim and the drywall that needs taken out because it was saturated in sewer.
