How Can I create a brochure without having access to MIcrosoft Publisher?

I have to make a brochure for a school project but I am finding it difficult to do without Microsoft Publisher. I;ve got Word Perfect12 and can not find anywhere on the program that allows me to creat a brochure. Is there any free, downloadable program that will not take up too much space or leave cookies on my computer??? If not, then where can I go to find help with this?
