Drywall is damaged from tile removal (adhesive/ripped)....?

cheapest and simplest way to do all you asked and very effective. Sc glue off with a paint scr. dont worry about gouging the wall surface. Then use drywall mud to skim coat the gouged area (dry between coats) a fan or warm dry room works best (dont dry too fast or mud will crack) then sand till smooth this can all be done in an afternoon less drying time. prime wall with a latex flat primer maybe have them add a drot of blue or red to paint for a slight tint so you can see your coverage better. (dont use flat paint only idiots do that). then you are ready to paint wall paper tile what ever. Remember when tiling start in the middle and work your way out to the edges
